About Jill

Jill has been playfully exploring the shapes and colors of sound since she was a little girl. It has always been the touchstone through her life; the ups and downs, the clear and the difficult.

Her teaching and guidance is rooted through her own path of healing through singing and healing trauma in her body/nervous system. Using her voice as a tool of healing; body/mind/spirit and sharing these gifts with others is part of why she believes she is here on this planet.

In 2014 she completed a functional voice training that is process oriented, holistically based, and scientifically grounded called Somatic Voicework™, The LoVetri Method. Jill lis also currently in the training to become a certified somatic experiencing practitioner.

She received her BFA from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, specializing in jazz and improvisation, and then went on to receive her MM in Vocal Performance at Longy School of Music of Bard, specializing in classical voice and opera. Before she studied in New York, Jill sang the devotional vocal music of North India which gave her a unique understanding of the beauty and emotion inherent in scales and melodies.
