The Greenhouse Yoga Collective is rooted in community. We are home to many of the Southbay's beloved teachers, who bring their expertise, passion and dedication to the unique offerings at our Lunada Bay "yoga shala". We serve as a yoga studio & resource center offering classes, workshops and trainings to enhance physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

  • Christie Havey Smith

    Christie founded the Greenhouse in 2020 to support her community in finding connection, growth, and wellbeing. She is a spiritual counselor, workshop instructor, and author. Her debut novel, Threads of Us, will be released on October 8, 2024. She is also the author of From Three Feet Off the Ground and the guided journal, Grow. Christie completed her studies in Mindfulness and Meditation at the Greater Good Science Center of UC Berkeley and in Holistic and Integrative Wellness at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). She has a masters in Theology and Spiritual Direction from LMU with specialized study in Jungian Psychology. She lives in Lunada Bay with her husband, three kids, and two dogs.

  • Sarah Beston

    Sarah Beston is a yoga & meditation teacher, inner wellness coach, and writer based in Los Angeles. Through her teachings and guidance, Sarah hopes to inspire others to overcome self-imposed limitations, helping them to uncover their individual truths and (re)discover their most authentic selves. Her Body Wisdom™ coaching programs and retreats blend ancient wisdom with modern science while pulling from the traditions of yoga, spiritual healing, positive psychology, somatics, and mindfulness. Sarah holds her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Spirituality and Mind Body Practice from Columbia University. She is an instructor at Columbia Business School’s Venture for All program, where she teaches courses on spiritual entrepreneurship and venture creation.

  • Suzy Nece

    Suzy Nece demystifies yoga and teaches you how to practice "your yoga," and she’ll make you belly laugh while doing it. She empowers students with the tools to be creative and develop a practice that meets their unique needs, honoring their history, injuries and blocks, as creative outlets to inspire change, courage and joy. Suzy Nece brings playful humor to her yoga classes, which challenge your body, open your mind, and uplift your spirit. She has been teaching yoga in the South Bay for over two decades and is the former owner of Yoga Loft in Manhattan Beach.

  • Shelley Williams

    Shelley Williams is a passionate teacher of yoga and pilates with over 23 years experience. She is the creative director/ founder of Yoga Mittra Teacher Training School, and is honored to mentor students of all levels, for both Vinyasa Yoga philosophy and Pilates-based methodology. 

    Shelley enjoys guiding annual, international and local retreats to unique places steeped in culture and nature; where guests can explore living yoga, community, healthy lifestyle, meditation, breath work, and the adventure of personal growth. 

    Shelley offers high-level sessions, and works with a wide variety of clientele, ranging from executive teams to pro-athletes to your next door neighbor. She is skilled in finding the perfect mix of modalities to heal injuries, promote health, increase mental and physical agility, enhance mindfulness and social/ emotional wellness, and navigate life balance with nature and humor.  

  • Keary Ann Bixby

    Keary, the founder of several health and wellness businesses in Los Angeles, has been immersed in health and fitness from a young age. Growing up playing sports, her passion for fitness was the foundation of her career in wellness. In 2003, she discovered her love for Pilates and its emphasis on the mind-body connection. After a decade of teaching and completing extensive Pilates and yoga training, she established her own teacher training program to educate and motivate individuals nationwide.

    In 2015, Keary embraced motherhood with the arrival of her daughter, Teagen. This new chapter, along with her studies in nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and individual trauma, enhanced her insight into women's mental and physical struggles and reinforced the significance of a comprehensive wellness approach. Her dedication to movement and guiding others in building a lifestyle centered around well-being shines through in all her classes, workshops, and wellness retreats.

  • Adji

    Adji is a seasoned yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience, hailing from Brazil and now rooted in Southern California. With a passion for holistic wellness, Adji continually deepens his expertise in yoga, meditation, anatomy, physiology, and shiatsu massage. When not teaching, you can find him riding the waves or soaking up the sun by the ocean.

    In Adji's classes, expect a transformative journey that awakens your inner vitality. Through a thoughtful sequence of revolving poses, he'll guide you in energizing your internal organs, unlocking radiant health and sustained energy. His expertise in twists will ignite creativity, joy, and a deeper connection to your mind and body.

  • Angela Matthews

    Angela first discovered the gift of yoga, meditation, and energy work nineteen years ago and has been teaching her soulful flow practice for eleven years. She is a certified Energy Medicine Facilitator and loves to work with the pure frequencies of Crystal Alchemy singing bowls, bringing restoration, recalibration, and rejuvenation to the mind, body, and spirit.

  • Augustine Lim

    Augustine began his journey into yoga in the summer of 2021. Drawn to mindfulness practices such as therapy and yoga, he was able to discover a connection between mind and body. Through yoga, Augustine has cultivated self-awareness, embraced authenticity, and found joy in life. This transformative experience has helped him to pursue opportunities and take life-changing chances. Now as a yoga teacher, Augustine is passionate about sharing these transformative practices, guiding others towards self-discovery, openness, and the freedom to fully enjoy life.

  • Christina Powers

    Christina Powers, PT, DPT, OCS, RYT -200 is doctor of physical therapy specializing in orthopedics, a long time yogi, yoga teacher, and self development coach.  Christina has been a physical therapist for over 18 years and has helped many people overcome their physical health challenges.  However, she began to see that are her clients were not living optimally or well in their bodies due to lack of integration between body, mind, and spirit.  Christina integrates Prana Flow movement meditation, Heroic Performance Coaching tools and practices, and her physical therapy experience to transform her clients through personalized Soulful Wellness Sessions.   She enjoys working and helping clients who want to experience life changing coaching and healing in order to clarify their purpose, get unstuck, or optimize their lives whether in body, mind, or spirit. 

  • Christopher Quain

    As the creator of Strong and Calm Yoga and yoga practitioner for twenty plus years, Christopher uses strong alignment, yoga philosophy and an emphasis on the breath to guide my students through their work.  He endeavors to build an environment optimal for growth, healing and understanding. Referencing anything from quantum physics to ancient thinkers his instruction is designed to bring the student to better understand his or her whole person in relation to the current moment. Dynamic and meditative, Christopher’s yoga with sound meditation elevates body, mind and soul.

  • Jennifer Edwards

    Jennifer is a Level 3 Certified Iyengar Yoga instructor with 25 years of teaching experience in Southern California. She is known for her therapeutic knowledge and her eye, seeing her students to guide them beyond what they believe about their bodies and  their potential. 

  • Jimmy Erickson

    Jimmy discovered yoga through his deep-rooted passion for dance. Since becoming RYT certified in 2013, he’s immersed himself in the practice, blending his love of movement with mindfulness and breathwork.

    His classes are a reflection of grounding and uplifting experiences, emphasizing the power of breath and mindfulness. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned yogi, join Jimmy in exploring the transformative journey of body, mind, and spirit through yoga.

  • Julie Rader

    Julie’s yoga classes combine solid alignment with an intuitive teaching method that weaves the ancient wisdom of yoga into everyday life. Her classes allow students to tap into their highest potential through breath, body movement, and stillness. Her intuitive, creative and specific sequencing focuses on matching asana and intention with lunar cycles, seasons, and astrology. 

    With a Master Degree in exercise physiology and a Bachelor in Psychology Julie helps students marry the spiritual aspects of the practice with solid anatomical principles. In addition to her public classes, she is also a passionate teacher of elite athletes, including the US National teams for volleyball, soccer, and cycling.

    Julie founded Mukti Yoga School in 2004 and has certified many of the popular teachers in the South Bay and hundreds of teachers worldwide. 

    Her favorite role in life is being a mother to her little yogis, Samson and Olina. Julie is in awe of how much her children teach her about mindfulness every day.

  • Sarah Fairbrother

    Sarah was introduced to yoga by her mother at a young age, but really fell in love with her practice while she was attending University of Hawai’i. It was there that she realized the healing powers and stress relieving properties due to the blend of breathwork, mindfulness, and movement that yoga offers. After graduating with a degree in Anthropology she moved home to the South Bay and completed her RYT at Soho Yoga where her passion for teaching flourished. In addition to practicing yoga she enjoys surfing, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

  • Leah Bernstein

    Leah’s love for yoga and mindfulness began as a child practicing yoga with her mom.  She is a certified RYT yoga instructor, student and practitioner. Leah has a passion for the mind/body connection and a deep love for teaching people of all ages. Her classes range from a powerful flow, to teen workshops and family yoga classes. In addition to yoga, Leah enjoys running, snowboarding, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends near her home in Lunada Bay, California.

  • Marla Wedge

    Marla's first introduction to yoga was in 1976, at home in Rochester, New York watching a public television program with Richard Hittleman. She has been a student of yoga ever since. She has been teaching the healing arts for over 25 year and is well versed in yoga, pilates, nutrition and is a kids yoga educator.

    She is a registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level and offer classes for all levels of students, and a registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, recently completing the two year certification program in Yoga Therapy from Loyola Marymount University.

  • Michelle Kim Hall

    Michelle began her wellness journey with reiki, which she has incorporated into her writing workshops. She believes creativity is an integral part of our human experience and essential to our wellbeing. In 2021 she began earning certifications in reiki, breathwork, and the Guided Meditation Framework, modalities that have enhanced her longstanding teaching career. 

    She received her BA from UCLA with a concentration in poetry, then went on to earn her JD from Harvard Law School, where she curated a curriculum centered on advocacy, art, and literature. At NYU Michelle earned her MFA where she taught creative and expository writing before returning to her hometown in Palos Verdes. She is thrilled to be part of the Greenhouse community.

    hirOMi knew she had healing hands long before she discovered what Reiki was. Now, a Reiki Master and certified yoga teacher, she loves sharing her gift with her Palos Verdes community.
